Empowering young girls to read, explore, and adventure—one page and trail at a time!
This three-part summer event series is designed for middle school girls who want to dive into exciting stories, build friendships, and grow their courage and curiosity through books, creative expression, and real-world adventure.

📍 Location:
All sessions begin at Pages and Parcels Bookstore, 101 N Main St. Potosi, WI
(Session 1 includes transportation to the Mines of Spain in Dubuque, IA)
💵 Cost:
$80 for all 3 sessions
(Includes book, materials, Lit Teas, craft supplies, author event, transportation, and lunch)

Creator of the Strong Girls Travel series — the only kids' book series with adventurous, female-led stories set in U.S. national parks! Amy is on a mission to help girls get out of their heads, out of their own way, and define their own adventures. You won’t want to miss this empowering experience!
📖 Program Overview:
🌄 Session 1 – Hike & Meet the Author (July 22 | 9AM–1PM)

Get ready for a real-world adventure! 
We’ll begin at The Hub to meet author Amy Friedl, learn about hiking safety, plan our route, and hear how her Strong Girls Travel series came to life. Each girl will get to take home one of five books, following AJ—a brave and curious girl who explores a different U.S. National Park in each story. From mountain trails to desert paths, AJ’s adventures highlight themes of independence, bravery, and connection. Then we’ll head to the Mines of Spain for a scenic hike and picnic surrounded by nature.

• 9:00 - 10:00 AM: Meet at the Hub, author talk, hike and lunch prep
  

• 10:00 AM: Depart for Mines of Spain
  

• 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Hike with friends
  

• 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Picnic lunch at Mines of Spain
  

• 12:00 PM: Leave for Potosi
  

Transportation provided to and from Dubuque.

📘 Session 2 - Pick & Create (July 29 | 9 - 10am)
Girls will create a custom resin bookmark, and sip a Lit Tea of their choice. This meeting is all about being crafty, chatting with some friends and sharing exciting details from their book!
📗 Session 3 – Sip & Share (August 5 | 9 - 10am)
Time to grab a new tea flavor and dive into discussion! We’ll talk favorite moments, themes of courage and discovery, and the opportunity to swap books. Girls will connect through story and shared experiences.
